Teaching Procedures:
1. Warming up
Play a song named “l(fā)et it go’. After listening, ask students to sing this song and whether they want to join in a music club.
2. Presentation
Share some pictures bout new words and ask students to describe these activities.
T: What is she doing?
S: She is drawing pictures.
T: Can you draw?
S: Yes, I can.
T: Do you want to join an art club?
S: Yes, I want to join the art club.
Then finish the exercise to review these new words.
3. Practice
I will ask students to choose a club that they are interested in from our book’s picture, then describe the reason. And I will use the new sentences structure to ask them some questions.
S: I want to join a music club.
T: Oh, can you sing?
S: No, I can’t. But I like singing and I want to be a singer.
First listen to the tape and finish 1b. Then listen again, and ask students to read after the tape and pay more attention to the pronunciation and do the imitation.
4. Consolidation
Work in pairs and perform these three conversations. Then ask some pairs to share their dialogues.
Divide students into several groups and ask them to talk about their interesting activities and clubs and make conversations.
After discussion, ask some group to perform.
5. Summary and homework
Ask students to be teacher’s assistants to summarize what we have learned today and after class, students can do a survey, then report it in the next class.
